Financial Times article: Technical Analysis is Rubbish

To each his own, use what works for you. Your results will be what confirms the viability of your method.

I agree with Cutten, TA isn't just indicators (probably the least useful of the TA tool kit), it is tape reading, price action, sentiment, S/R, trendlines, patterns, market profile, volume anaylsis etc.

TA is an art, not a science. It does work, but only for the artist. You cannot learn how to apply TA from books. You learn only the principles.

Nobody will teach you the tricks of the trade unless you are the "successor".

Even then, you may not get it, especially if you are not an artist.

Someone saying technical analysis does not work is ridiculous. If you do not understand technical analysis and spend the at least year or 2 to fully experiment and find what works for you then yeah I would agree TA can be a hinderance. Trying to use a tool you do not understand or know how to use can always be dangerous.

Never give a 5 year old a power saw......

TA vs Fundamentals is like comparing relgions or different martial arts styes. If I study one religion and it works for me then great. It doesnt mean the others are rubbish....It just means i have found the one that works for me. It is amazing that with TA, Religions and martial arts people who do find success with one style are still so close minded an ignorant to understand other people may have found a different path to success or happyness. There are many paths. Anyone saying thier path is the only path in regards to anything is a close minded person and missing out on other potential good and life enriching experiences.

This guy wouldn't know his ASS from a CHART if you stand there holding it 2 in. from his eyeballs.

In school's in book's in banks, spreadsheets everywhere. People look at graphs and charts daily,
for the things he said don't work. He's a fruit cake and Nuts.

Let's go see how far he gets when he has to construct a home or building.

He'll built it without a plan.(right, I like to see this). If it was his building he be the first with rolled up
graphs and charts making sure things are going the right direction.

I think this guys boss man or women, should take a good look at this employee ( I mean REALLY).

He shouldn't be writing.

trade well y'all. (with your mouse).
