But seriously, did you fully understand all of Al's convoluted stuff? For example, did you think through his "2 legged pullbacks"?
while ES is great for both i want to learn to swing too.
i was not a very good scalper with one loss wiping out 20 trades profits.
this led to an emotional roller coaster
ALSO there is a lot of thinking to do with scalping figuring out probability mainly.
but in swing up need to see only one thing: break[out] of high, test of low and a break of high again.
wash and repeat.
right at this time up, 900 usd and counting in one trade. if i make 1500 usd in aday i have to stop trading for the day .Top step trader rules

think that fu*k Brooks is not very political but nice colorful language quite entertaining in a drab financial environment like a forum on trading
two leg pullbacks [ABC CORRECTIONS] were "discovered" maybe, about 80 years, before the erstwhile Dr Brooks was born.
so nothing there to think about.

he just puts the market in a different universe that is compatible with his mind set. took me twenty years to get a clue about what he was talking about.
i prefer break of high, test of low, break of high,BUY to define a swing trade.
in one line i have stated a trading method which the Great Brooks took 3 books to describe the same thing. waste of time but entertaining for the intellect
I hope it won't take you another 20 years to realize that 80% of all breakouts ultimately fail.
You have no idea what you are getting into with swing trading. And you do not have enough cash in your account to to do it with three contracts in the ES.
