Finally. A good debate.

Cruz is a piece of shit. Condemned tariffs against Chindia

Easy, tigger. He didn't condemn tariffs, just stated that there was a better way of doing it. Now, whether you believe there's a better way or not is a different issue.

Kudos to CNN for asking direct policy questions and not trying to get the candidates to fight each other. Well done.

I thought it was a pretty good debate, but I thought it was more because of choices made by the candidates than anything CNN did. That asshole Jake Tapper was constantly trying to foment disputes with his questions. Other than Jorge Ramos, has anyone asked the dems a tough gotcha type question?

I suspect the candidates got together and agreed to avoid the personal stuff.

I thought Rubio had a very good debate, although I see that others here disagree. He was totally on top of the visa/immigration issue, which is ironic since it is his major negative.

Kasich has a lot of experience, etc but boy is he annoying. He literally cannot go five minutes without bragging about how "he" balanced the federal budget. Reagan and those other guys were sipping cocktails apparently while the young Kasich took over. Then he has to go on about how "he" balanced the Ohiop budget and cut taxes and created jobs. I'm surprised that he doesn't claim credit for the shale oil discovery that made it all possible. If he carries his home state, he looks good as a VP but I sure wish they could come up with somone better.

I thought an important point got swept under the rug last night. Trump was being challenged on his SS plans. He made the point he would save money from wasteful spending. He specifically pointed out how much we spend defending countries all over the world, like Saudi Arabia and Korea. It's not small change, like the mods and Rubio implied. Rubio pointed out that "foreign aid" is a small part of the budget, but that wasn't Trump's point. He was pointing to the enormous defense expenditures that our empire entails. If we are to be mercenaries and palace guards for the Saudi kingdom, they can at least pay for it. Instead they rip us off.

Bush pissed away enough in Iraq and Afghanistan to pay for SS and medicare for generations, plus pave all our shitty roads and fix the bridges. No one wants to talk about that though.

I'm totally fine with them not asking tough questions of the dem candidates, AAA. All the more violent and traumatic will be the wake up call when they have a one on one with the republican candidate in the main election, and tough questions are the norm.

Good point. Apparently that Jorge guy took it to Hillary on Benghazi and she was not pleased.

I really do not see how she can overcome the video of that woman whose son was killed. She can blow it off all she wants, but Trump can run that thing over and over. No one believes a word Hillary says anyway and her explanation reeks.

Seriously, did you not catch the earlier Dem debates? I can understand your bias. I'm biased as well, if in the opposite direction. But to deny that the Dems were each grilled in earlier debates is simply disingenuous. Why do you do it?

I don't think so. I watched it. He came out hard against tariffs and said it would start a trade war. This is totally unacceptable and baloney

Exactly. Foreign revenue hasn't been considered in trumps plan. At least 100 billion for global protection
