I'm black and I will tell you that the community in large part doesn't care. Why? Because the shooter isn't white. If they can't claim racism and sing "we shall overcome," they don't give a fuck. I grew up seeing this crap my whole life. A black person is killed by another black person and people will mourn for a little bit then it's back to business as usual a short time later. But, let them hear about a white person or a white cop shooting a black person thousands of miles away....they suddenly become enraged and demand justice.

To show you how fucked up it is, I had a friend from high school who was murdered in August by another black male. Everyone was saddened and so forth. But guess what happened at the funeral? The preacher doesn't really talk about the deceased. Instead, he starts talking about Ferguson. He said NOTHING about the fact that the deceased was laying in a casket at the hands of another black man. He didn't ask that this black on black violence end. Nope....he jumped straight to a topic that he could claim racism. And most of those idiots sat there and agreed with him. THAT is black people for you.

Bill Cosby, IMO, is being persecuted by the liberal media for telling black people to get their shit together. We all know that black dysfunction is big business for liberals and you can't have Bill Cosby and black conservatives fucking up their cash cow. If you'd notice, no liberals nor any pro-black "everything is a conspiracy against the black man" types have come out to defend Bill Cosby against rape allegations made against him by a white woman. If this were another black celebrity, liberals and blacks would be crying racism, but since this attack was likely staged by them, they won't come to his defense.

PTSD doesn't stop with veterans. Most people who throw PTSD around as an excuse for someone's actions usually throw it in regards to a vet or a cop. PTSD is simply the result of any traumatic occurrence. You could have fell off a bike or have been hit by a car and have PTSD. Kids who are abused can have it. Someone who had a nasty accident skiing, or at bad sushi, or whatever. PTSD is just the response to a traumatic event.

Sure, veterans are more likely to have it than not because of what they experienced in war. But people point to it as if it is an excuse to behavior that is not acceptable - as a way out. As an excuse. It's not an excuse. Some people function better than others under stress, and some people have better mechanisms to deal with traumatic impressions that memories leave in their psyche. Some people require therapy, sometimes extensive, in order to cope. Some people never learn to cope and just manage the symptoms as best they can.

Most, and by most I mean the vast majority of those with some form of PTSD, deal with it so well you'd never even know they have it unless you were very close to them.

I've been diagnosed with it, and I've worked hard to remove the power those memories have over me. Most do exactly that.

Anyway, this was more in response to the guy you were answering - not you, Leap.
