Quote from AFJ Garner:

Ed Seykota most amusingly suggested to Van Tharp that he should call the latest edition of TYWTFF "Write Your Way to Financial Freedom".

No one takes a “trading expert” seriously unless they put their money where there mouth is.

Tharp realized quite early that it is low risk to formulate complex sounding theories and write books with PhD attached to his name in it then actually trade.

Ed Seykota on the other hand does trade.
Hilarious stuff though - WYWTFF.

Chris.

Quote from AFJ Garner:

No doubt you will ask us to believe in Father Chistmas and the tooth fairies as well.

Serious question: What new ground are you breaking here? It sounds like the EXACT direction of my two books! Or if it is a "system design" cookbook, does it beat what Bob Pardo has already done? However, phrases like the following don't appear terribly original:

"This book reflects the author’s belief that successful investing is not complex, that market timing works and that investors should spurn traditional actively-managed products in favour of managing their own investments using index tracking funds."

"Sceptics will maintain that mechanical systems do not work and that you cannot ignore the fundamentals. They are wrong. Sophisticated investors have profited handsomely over the years by following price trends on a purely mechanical basis and they will continue to do so."

"This guide will show you that systematic trading is likely to provide far better risk-adjusted returns than any conventional approach currently on offer by professional fund managers."

"There has never been a better time to point out the advantages of systematic investing. At a time when long only traditionalists are fully invested in stocks and nursing huge losses, the systematic investor has exited the markets entirely and waits patiently for a signal to re-enter."

Interesting!

Isn't it (un)interesting how Cove and his lickspittle CantTradeSurfer keep this thread alive.

Keep on seeking suckers ... neither of you can make a dime trading.

Can'ttradesurfer :D :) ---you must have me confused with another on this site. see, i despise trend following and think its a vastly inferior trading technique.

by the way, have you seen the trend following movie? It's a good movie, just don't follow the specific trading advice.

Covel on Wallstrip: "I'm not a trader"

I believe Lindsay makes that statement. Wallstrip apparently was using ET for their research that day.

great stuff so far... I love the "good bet", "bad bet" remarks.
I think good traders can DETERMINE AND THEN MANAGE more "good bets" and that's how they make money.
Easier said than done.

100% INCORRECT. Covel was the one who said/confirmed it.
