Friends in the oil business called me to recommend filling up tonight, with Ike making a bee-line for the oil rigs. I don't trade oil, so cannot advise there. Just passing it along...

Ike is heading for the refineries along the Texas Gulf Coast. That is the real issue, as these refineries will have to shut-down due to the incredible storm surge that is coming. It will take several days to power back up and get back online.

Buy the refiners, especially TSO. Wholesale gas is already spiking in the south to close to $5 bucks with crude down to $100.

Crack spreads have improved dramatically, especially for TSO, top buy in this environment.
