In 1999 there were 3 extremely revealing movies: Fight Club, Eyes Wide Shut and The Matrix.

It was 13 years into 2012 and the year contains 666 flipped upside down.

What the authors were trying to say? Quotes from the main character, Tyler Durden:

"We’re consumers. We are byproducts of a lifestyle obsession. Murder, crime, poverty, these things don’t concern me. What concerns me are celebrity magazines, television with 500 channels, some guy’s name on my underwear. "

its not about nihilism. not at all.

in the middle of the movie there is a line:

" the movie goes on, and nobody in the audience has any clue what is all about".

incredible, the movie itself predicted that audience will not understand it.

there is a talk about controlled demolition in the beginning and crashing two towers in final scene.

It is an amazing movie!

Having been a student of philosophy, I find it to be a very accurate depiction of the collective psyche of our times, but also a work of art in itself.

But, like Nietzsche, it will be forever doomed to be misunderstood and labelled as nihilistic and misanthropic, when in fact the opposite is true...

the movie is a comprehensive guide how to rebel against social norms and government. how to fight with corporations.

there is a scene were durden tells members to get into fight with strangers. all strangers are not pissed off, dont want to engage in a fight.

exactly like the current society. docile, can't fight with oppressors - fed, bush, rockefeller, cia.

How on earth is a the blowing up of credit card towers in delaware, in an attempt to reset peoples credit, related to 9/11?

We are taught if you want to do or have stuff you need money, the movie asks, "Do you really want to do this stuff?"

one of durdens jobs in the movie was to put images onto film tape.
the same trick is actually used in the movie itself!
