Gossip from Seeking Alpha allegedly quoting a letter Fidelity sent to customers.
%%I would gladly pay Fidelity a custodial fee. Their fills are the same or better than IBKR who is charging me per share commissions. Plus Fidelity actually provides customer service.
That's the only drawback at Fidelity where any ishares you buy are not marginable for 30 days, so the margin is locked up even with a portfolio margin acct. That's why I use Fidelity and Schwab, and a tiny acct at IBKR%%
They still have some top performing mutual funds+ those annual reports are fun to read + informative/helpful. I like the way they used to US mail monthly statements.
Dont know if thier ETFs still have an extra charge or restrictions for selling under 30 days??

Fidelity has the 30 days non-margin rule for their Ishare ETFs? I thought only TDAmeritrade still has that going on.That's the only drawback at Fidelity where any ishares you buy are not marginable for 30 days, so the margin is locked up even with a portfolio margin acct. Fido does a great job can’t argue there. Leaves a ton to be desired in the active space but they get the order done no doubt.I would gladly pay Fidelity a custodial fee.
