But it is kinda scary, a Chrysler car with a Fiat engine. Seems like the worst of both worlds.

To me none of these intercontinental car partnerships seem to come to anything.

Probably just to get a foot in the door without spending a lot of money. It's about time for them to get serious regarding the NA market, but again, they're too cheap...

From what i know fiat engines are quite good and use a lot of technology. for ex the first turbodiesels are from fiat, and where then taken by vw and other manufacturers.
