There was never a debate here on gun violence in red states. That was just an uninspired attempt at "whataboutism" on your part. Look at the thread title again please. The primary discussion is if the attacks I referenced will be labeled as racially motivated or not. You cited rising tensions and police training as a possible cause as one of the reasons why a man went up (unprovoked) and smacked an NYPD officer in the face with a stick. When I pointed out that Democrats control these places you then began to deviate further in bad faith.

Face the fact that Republicans can't control who Democrats hire on their police forces. Republicans can't control what police training Democrats chose to pay for. Take some fucking responsibility and quit being a whinny sniveling worm of a person.

The tension with police is because of aggressive policing tactics. The police have adapted aggressive tactics because the probability of guns are a factor they have to consider in all of their encounters.

We cannot not factor in guns when discussing policing in America. Guns are at the core of police training. It is the dominant factor in how they engage suspects. Other countries do not have the extent of police killings and aggressive policing because they do not have the gun factor we do in America. It cannot be severed from the conversation. If you cared about the police at all you would advocate for common sense gun measures to limit the amount of guns that end up on the street. You would also advocate for more mental health and homeless funding. These are issues cops should not be dealing with. Guns are purchased in states with loose gun laws, transported out of state and sold illegally on the streets. This can happen because there is no purchaser responsibility for the gun after purchase.
