No, it's been about "Tea Party Principles" and "Abiding by the Constitution", even though no one can agree on what "abiding by the Constitution" means. Hence the need for a certain degree of brain death to "follow" these principles.
thanks for answering...
I am not sure I want to try and answer the question... but I will say the first thing we need to do is get rid the IRS...
since they do not abide by the constitution
they are used like a weapon by people within the parties who are not abiding
and the money used to get tax breaks is highly corrupting on the hill.
so for the sake of liberty and abiding by the constitution we should all agree the IRS must be dismantled and their last act should be to store the key on a hard drive.
If you think but cannot be certain, then how is the TP wannabee supposed to follow this particular dictum? Since you think this list is so straightforward, why not do the digging yourself and explain just what it means? Again, unless one can define what "believe in the people" means, it's just hot air.
"Democrats believe that we're greater together than we are on our ownâthat this country succeeds when everyone gets a fair shot, when everyone does their fair share, when everyone plays by the same rules."

You're the only one who can't seem to agree on it. We all do. And your inability to agree is really just refusal to accept. You're certainly capable, you just don't want to because it's inconvenient. Can lead a horse to water, but can't make him drink. Keep plugging your ears with your fingers yelling "lalalala....can't hear you". It's very effective debate strategy.
"We all"?
Unless you can provide evidence that "everyone" agrees on exactly what the Constitution says and what it means (is every Supreme Court decision unanimous?), then the requirement to "abide" by it is meaningless. If you don't understand that, there's no point in continuing this.
Not that I expect you to actually admit any of this."...the first thing we need to do is get rid the IRS...
We'll never (at least prior to the next great revolution) get rid of the IRS... too many special interests and tax policy is a matter of force and control.
But can you imagine what would happen to the American economy if we adopted a flat tax? Laffer says "11% of income and on corporations" would be about right.... maybe add a consumption tax??
Would not be difficult to implement. Most states already have sales tax... just add another line to the software and collect the tax at point of sale.
Exemptions for low income earners and their cost of basic goods/services could easily be included.
Corporations would have no incentive to hide their profits overseas and would have incentive to do business in America and employ people here.

Flat tax or national sales tax would be awesome. But it would have to be without an income tax (include an abolish the income tax measure), or politicians would eventually just add them on top of each other.
