Then it's not a put-down imo. Strong, fast, mano a mano fighters, right in harm's way. Although I served as a squid, and my job was to push buttons that resulted in whole shiploads of such men being sent to the bottom of ocean, I still had the highest respect for them!

Seriously, there is nothing wrong with ground pounders or jarheads. (Well, maybe there is something very wrong with jarheads. Oh, and definitely bubbleheads.) : )
