The NSA is literally collecting data on every single person on the internet in the country, perhaps we can cut that out of the mix then...... I dont want them to catch everyone but maybe when the scope is that broad then its just a colossal waste of money since they dont seem to be narrowing it down.

But yes, the FBI is expected to respond to serious threats and yes they are supposed to try to intercept before a crime occurs. Good effort may not be enough. That is understood. No effort is not acceptable. Even the frigging FBI leadership is drop-dead appalled that the case was never even referred from the local office to the regional officer for their review and priority-setting per their established protocol. So why do you feel the need to cover up for them?

How do they do that? Follow him and every other like him 24/7? Arrest him before he commits a crime?
As with other complaints, it would go to the assessment team at the regional office in Miami and they would put him on a watchlist if warranted. And do further investigation if warranted. And run basic database analysis. For example they would have seen the two extensive complaints alleging increasing threats of violence the when they ran him through the database, they would have seen the purchase of the AR 15 at the same time. So on and so forth......I cant investigate the case for them here. But they did not even follow their own protocol which they concede was required and would have yielded more information. It never was forwarded for review. ie. It was dropped in the bureaucracy.
And yes, the fbi intercepts planned attacks on a weekly basis. You can't get them all of course. But everyone acknowledges that they were given enough info on this case to put him higher up on the list. They got one serious tip to the FBI in January and another tip last month from another person saying that he increasingly was talking about killing people. And the database showed he was buying guns. Yup. Fully expect them to move toward advanced investigation and/or surveillance.
The FBI failed bigtime on this and they agree that they did.

And you are saying that that does not elevate the level of review needed for him in any way and you are apparently okay with the fact that it was never even reviewed as other complaints are by sending it to the Miami office as their protocol required. Nice.

Most law enforcement agencies would give their left nut for the tips the FBI got and ignored. Even the FBI itself is pissed that they did not get to see what their normal protocol called for. But, hey, you be cool. And that's what counts. Not so much down at the school.

No. The opposite. It should have been forwarded to the regional office where it would have been reviewed and prioritized as their proctocol calls for. But we have rather covered that a few times, eh? And even the fact that the FBI is appalled that it did not happen is fine with you.
Okay, let's leave it there. We have seen this movie quite a few times.. You robopost extensively but when you try to fly without your prepared packages it starts getting goofy and embarrassing for you right off. Pretty painful to watch. Wait for the next media matters package, probably Monday morning.
And just keep telling the parents at the school that the agents don't make enough to follow their own procedures intended to screen out the dangerous and imminent events. Or maybe explain that even if the regional office had seen it they would not have done anything with it. Yeh, that will be a winner.
