FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe 'removed' from the bureau

This is normal and legal funding of a political campaign. If you are not happy with it, you should help elect politicians that will back a Constitutional amendment that can close down unlimited contributions via PACs.

The innuendo is that since McCabes wife who is was a minor State politician running for elected office, she was defeated, that McCabe must somehow be tainted in his oversight role (however limited that may be) of the Mueller investigation. There is not even prima facie evidence, rather the innuendo is prima facie absurd. Come back when there is some evidence beyond innuendo.

Wow. You are pretty far gone in regard to understanding this issue.

Fortunately, the IG has it.

Also, in regard "to his being tainted in his oversight of the Mueller investigation" there has not even been any suggestion by me or others that he has oversight of the Mueller investigation. You are too far behind on this issue to comment. Stand down and take notes for a while and see if you can figure out what the issue is.

As I said, the IG has it so your understanding or not is not important.

sheesh.

A question nobody is asking, why was Obama so 'sure' Trump was never going to be president? What did he know at the time?

I smell a rat!!

Why do you think the current FBI director took action against McCabe, after seeing the memo and IG info?

Whatever, then it was only a small number that were marked as classified or something like that. Like I said I am not going back through this from two years ago.

What is important is republicans are in control of the DOJ and fbi, they can review and charge as they see appropriate. And we know they are reviewing. As it stands, Clinton did nothing illegal and no one has been charged.
Sorry Mr. UsualName, but eight email chains containing Top Secret information, 36 containing Secret, and eight containing Confidential is not "only a small number" given the damage that could be caused by their unauthorized disclosure. This is beyond dispute https://fas.org/sgp/library/quist2/chap_7.html

Also, the FBI's position was not that "Clinton did nothing illegal." It was "although there is evidence of potential violations of the statutes regarding the handling of classified information, our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case."

I have had TS/SCI continuously since the early 1980s with at least 8 EBI (now called SSBI) investigations and lots of weird COMSEC endorsements and special access.

If I was discovered to have TS material on my personal laptop outside of a secure facility you would simply never hear from me again and I would be sitting in isolation in a federal high security prison for the rest of my life.

That is what burns my ass. I have seen many colleagues have their careers ended for simple mistakes. A friend of mine lost his tickets for just accidently walking into a secure conference room with his unsecured laptop which was OFF. Others lost their career because someone mismarked a disc that contained classified and that disc was inserted into an unclassified machine. Poof! Career over!

So it is incredibly unfair that the elite class of politicians can have TS material on home servers, personal laptops and phones and not get prosecuted. Any normal guy would be burned down and imprisoned.

I don’t know what you’re saying to be beyond dispute. Confidential information passes through many government official’s hands. Collin Powell used a private email. Is it beyond dispute in his case? No.

This really was an administrative matter. We have Trump people using private emails. A couple of months ago there was an issue with Jared Kushner using private emails.

My statement was it was a small number marked as classified. If you’re apologizing for mistaken my statement, don’t. And, the FBI’s position was “no charges are appropriate.” Meaning, not illegal.

Sorry Mr. UsualName, but you are incorrect yet again.

I didn't "mistaken" your statement about "a small number marked as classified." I ignored it because markings are irrelevant and the duty to protect all classified information -- marked or not -- is exactly the same. This is specifically addressed in the NDA that Clinton signed.

What evidence do you have that Powell or Kushner had Top Secret and Secret and Confidential information on unsecure servers or email? Don't bother. You have none.

At the very least, Clinton's gross negligence violated 18 U.S. Code § 793 and intent is not required. Not charging someone for a crime doesn't mean they didn't commit it.

I'll let you have the last word Mr. UsualName, because I'm a kind person and your posts imply a need to pretend you're right in the face of all evidence to the contrary. Have a nice day!

If you still have that clearance Mr. Snarkhund, you've had it longer than Mr. UsualName has been alive and yet he's the expert. So if you ever get in trouble, please see his latest pronouncements which you can use to get all charges dismissed!

I will take the last word, thank you. I know I’m right in the fact that the fbi conducted an investigation and did find cause to charge.

You and many others seem to believe you are superior investigators than the fbi but I don’t think you are. We will have to agree to disagree on that.

The FBI already knows about the original sources that Nunes relied on to write the memo. Those original sources came in to the committee through a combination of FBI sources and documents, and sources and documents submitted by the Inspector General as part of his investigation. Plus testimony before the committee in closed session. Several congressman have said that while the Nunes report is a summary that people may or may not agree with that the summary lists/cites/points to all the sources to support his statements. I don't doubt for a minute that there will be much disagreement about how Nunes summarized it. AT THE SAME TIME, I DO NOT DOUBT FOR A MINUTE THAT WRAY AND OTHERS KNOW THAT SOME OF THE DOCUMENTS AND SOURCES CITED SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES AND WILL NOT GO AWAY AND ARE SERIOUS REGARDLESS OF HOW THEY WERE SUMMARIZED.

It might be a good time for to remember our various discussions where I reminded you several times that your were getting to cocky and dismissive by pointing out that I should let you know when there is an independent investigator for the FBI and/or Hillary. I said that that is not the only way that some of this is being looked at and there was more to come. Nunes report, and the IG report coming after March and the Intel hearings are examples of the "more to come" and other ways it is being looked at. Ditto for a pile of other DOJ employees that either are or will be sweating bullets even though there is no independent FBI investigator.

Also, Wray does not need to try the case for against McCabe in his office in order to justify moving him out. If he has lost confidence in him and wants to put his own staff in place that is sufficient. McCabe has already established that he is a political hack. Removing

him would actually be a step toward making the FBI less of shit show.

Nunes is a known liar, that has twisted information in collusion with the White House before. There was the whole unmasking fiasco that had him recuse himself from the Russia investigation and be reviewed by the ethics committee. I understand Gowdy is involved in this memo, too. He’s another known quantity with a reputation for coming up short.

However, I am not dismissing this. A man like McCabe generally stays until his last day, but the media attention and political pressure something that could have been a factor too.

There could be more to come and there could be more duds too.
