Speaking of Facebook, the company has also partially rolled back its ban on cryptocurrency-related ads, which it introduced back in January. Ads from vetted advertisers will now be allowed in the realms of cryptocurrencies themselves and "related content," but ads for initial coin offerings and binary options—both areas that are rife with scams—are still off the table. You will no doubt be astonished to hear that Facebook continues to share data about friends of its users with dozens of companies, despite previously saying it no longer did so. According to a document it submitted to Congress, Facebook is still sharing such information with 61 companies ranging from delivery services to dating apps, but it says it is just providing a transitional period to the companies to allow them to comply with policies it introduced, uh, three years ago. Fake News

Facebook is reportedly buying a British natural-language processing company called Bloomsbury AI in order to help it fight fake news, among other things. According to TechCrunch, the deal is worth up to $30 million. The startup's research chief, Sebastian Riedel, is apparently a big name in natural-language processing—essentially, having computers understand the meaning of what people are saying, and helping them emit human-like language. Facebook Decisions

Facebook security chief Alex Stamos, who is leaving the company, told staffers back in March that the social network must "be willing to pick sides when there are clear moral or humanitarian issues"—a stance that's not in line with Facebook's professed neutrality when dealing with conspiracy theories and disinformation. Stamos also said the company should take heed of those who "tell us a feature is creepy or point out a negative impact we are having in the world." Fortune

sorry to hear... it's gonna be tough... deceleration is the dirtiest word for growth companies... if FB has to be valued like AAPL, then a even bigger hair cut is coming.

I am lucky not having this... although indirectly plenty in my qqq/xlk holds.... personally I just don't like the social media thing.

I don't even have an account, but can see trends the sheeple follow. Was hoping the whole selling personal data for profit would've been water under the bridge by now.
