When my wife asks me if I have made any money off anyone during the trading day, I always think of the movie "True Lies". I think of the part when Jamie Lee Curtis asks Arnold if he has ever had to kill anyone, and he replies; "Yes, but they were all bad!".

Not offended, now that I know where you are coming from....perhaps I can explain further....

Of course Affleck's monologue is a poignant satire not to be taken seriously....

I mean, would you seriously take directions from a 27 year old whippersnapper???

I posted it because Boiler Room represents a rather pathetic slice of the wall street (or any business) culture... oozing full of deceit/lies, the games/power and all encompassing BS.....

that still prevails on a daily basis to influence the market.... in the form of analyst recommendations or corporate PR ....or some stock-picking guru's website to the yahoo message boards, etc....

not that we (the enlightened members of ET) would swallow any of the BS, of course....:) :)

Yes it's that scene when Morpheus explains to Neo that they are in the matrix so he can make everything he wants...It's not a matter of breathing you're in a programm...
Sunnie do you mean that the french translators have added the "Increase your speed" on their own??!!:eek:

I really love that sentence, I' ve made it my trading coat of arms :D (no need to specify that I am a scalper:p )

I thought BR was a great movie. I have seen it several times, and will no doubt watch it again in the future.

I also loved GGGR, and while there may be some similarities, they are both great movies in their own right.

"Increase your speed" ???? I don't think that is anywhere in the movie....

"increase your speed"??? I don't recall that in the movie.....
