David Gilmore: Time (Pink Floyd)
These are melodic, structured solos. They are not technically fast fingered, like a Malmsteen, but they are very effective, and go deep into you. Gilmore admits he is not a fast player. He focuses on hitting good notes with good tones.
I have always been impressed with some of these slick country telecaster pickers. There are some studio players, not famous, who drive a lot of these records, like behind Dwight Yokum. Vince Gill might be one of them.

Peter Frampton: Do you Feel Like I Do
Re: Randy Rhodes: Ozzy Ozborne said you can "hum" along with his solos. Anybody agree? I used to cover Crazy Train in 81-82, and pulled that one off note for note. I can also do Van Halens legato part in Eruption, note for note, exacly without mistakes...which is the only part of that solo that really impresses me, except the dive bomb.

I'm still pissed at Randy Rhoads for dying in that airplane crash.
He was my favorite guitar player at the time and afterwards of
course. But to die the way he did was plain stupid. Of course, it
was probably the dumb pilots fault but Randy should not of been
in that damn airplane in the first place... What a waste...
