No it wasn't. It was a den of racism in to 50's and 60's when the rate was 70%. The only "billionaires" (inflation adjusted) were old, white, male, and staunch conservatives.
Lower it to 40% and bam..... 100's of lefty billionaires creating big bucks to save the world and give to Hillary and Barack.

Thousands of Amazon workers are on food stamps and other public assistance.They hire thier prime drivers as independent contractors so they get no health benefits so they get tax payer funded medicaid or Obamacare etc.

As for E.W.'s Native American "heritage"? Well, why didn't she just identify herself as African-American, because ultimately that is where we ALL came from. Africa.

In public most people will virtue signal that they are happy for taxes to be raised.
But in the privacy of the voting booth it is a different story.

Here in the UK, the tax and spend 'loony left' as they are called here, never manage to get into power precisely because of this. But they all always do well in the polls though.

In American the party that believes the rich should pay more taxes has gotten more votes in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections.Enough of them dont get into power because of bull shit like the the electoral college,gerrymandering,a state with 5 million people having as much represention in the senate as a state with 40 million etc.

Its true the rich do help thier employees starve a little less.Thankfully tax payers like you and me help feed those starving employees when the rich employers dont.
