Fat Tub of Goo Ed Schultz wants Socialism

Quote from Arnie:

What he's really complaining about is that no one will listen to him unless the govt steps in and forces it, through the Fairness Doctrine. The FD may have had a place back in the day. But now you have all manner of competition....teevee, radio (both satellite and terrestrial), cable, internet....The FD would be used to stifle, not expand discussion.

Btw, Rush doesn't "own" 600 stations. In fact he doesn't own any

I watch the Ed Show on MSNBC everyday. The guy has some passion, but he is dumb as box of rocks. Sometimes I laugh till my sides hurt.

Excellent points. I had forgotten that some consider the new media reality, as you described, to be a cause of our national fragmentation and political polarization. That is, with all the choices now, one can listen all day and every day to only those channels expressing views one agrees with. Which of course "cements" the mind.

Quote from Ricter:

Actually, he's pressing for authoritarianism, not socialism. His bad, I agree.

You say that like you think there is a distinction between the two.

Geez some of you are fricken thick headed!

AA failed because no one wanted to advertise when the central tenet of all programming was communist anti-market excrement.

pmsnbc needs to take heed of that.

I watch the nut job, humor at it's best ie, unintended.:D

That's their right. I personally like to hear/read all sides of an argument, but I would never advocate that the govt force a station to carry a program for "balance". The market for news/commentary is like any other....people will make choices, hopefully informed choices. I don't think this country has ever had as much choice in news and commentary as we have now. Maybe some organizations feel threatened by that since they no longer have complete control over what's considered "news".

Also - the only people who took the time to listen to that crap were the unemployed with no discretionary income.

Who were the people who listen to that crap.... the something for nothing people... the people who want their "alternative life styles" sponsored by the hard working.

Smart liberals know they themselves are full of shit... they are just spouting liberal crap to keep political power or government or liberal foundation job. You really think olbermann is that dumb?

No... remember he said he would protest if the health care bill passed. Then his paycheck and private health care bill got the better of him.

Those two sentences basically equate the unemployed with the "something for nothing" people. So as the unemployment rate varies, so too does the attitude?

Well I don't think he meant unemployed as in the BLS reported figures but it's not a difficult concept to grasp ricter that increasing numbers of non productive citizens will produce more expectations of handouts from the gubbermint.
