For the emini, sim fills = real life fills. Hell, for the emini, you can backtest on the 5 minute chart, take your entry price as the first trade after the bar closes-- in real life, 90% of the time when you do this, you will get that price. 10% you'll get +/- a tick... sometimes worse, but sometimes better. I know, because I did this for some time.

Just want to say, this Open E Cry platform is awesome! I didn't expect it to be faster than TWS, but it is faster! I think it's because the quotes are real-time streaming vs. snap-shots every second or so. I'm impressed! The service is 100 times better as well

Not even. While the liquidity in the minis (especially the ES) is so thick that slippage is usually non-existent, fills on sims are instantaneous when your bid/offer is hit, whereas in real life you're usually stranded at the end of a long queue, maybe 1000 cars ahead of you, patiently waiting... waiting... (of course if price passes thru then you're filled either way).

Trading off DOM is awesome! I'm not necessarily scalping for ticks, but it would work very well for scalping. Today was my first day with OEC live, and I am so glad I switched! Didn't make too much, but enough to pay for all the books I bought yesterday
