my concern is that dems will vote for this just to make more dependents, more income inequality and less fluid class movement.
to me it is so screwed up for a windbag to get up on stage and talk about lack of movement between the classes as his party is pushing for a very high minimum wage.
How many more people will never get their start in business... cause of these elected idiots?
Whats next more inflation more taxes and more too big to fail banks?
Could these elected idiots find a more effective way to cement the class structure without giving people red dots?

That is interesting, thanks. Curious that the usual suspects are not touting this great feat. I mean, I have two main issues with minimum wage - IMO it hurts the economy and it is less freedom. If it turns out to not really hurt the economy in minimal amounts, that takes out a big chunk of disagreement.
Which begs the question, how come The One and his networks are not pointing this out? You'd think CNN and MSNBC would be featuring that point during stories about this strike.
Something does not add up. Are they saving this point for later? Maybe more evidence is being gathered to demonstrate this? Or are there serious problems of which we do not know? Or maybe something else altogether. Curious indeed. . .

The top one percent control 40% of the wealth and the gap between the top 1% and everyone else has grown over the last thirty years.
You know what hurts the economy? Letting the uber-rich sit on so much money. That money should be out in the economy which would stimulate demand and production.
All the righties complain about people leeching on the system but then they scream if we let people working full time earn a living wage.

Complete and total lack of understanding of basic corporate margin requirements evident throughout this post.
If companies are legislated to give higher minimum wage, they will higher/keep less workers. The total dollars entering the economy will not change, it will just be given to a fewer number of people.
They should be at the White House protesting an administration that has turned what used to be TEMPORARY jobs for teenagers into permanent low paying careers for adults trying to support a family.

When I was 15 I got my first job at a burger joint making $1/hr (min wage). I think I was there maybe 3 months before moving on to a job that paid over twice that. I had 4 jobs before HS graduation, all with higher pay. I went from $1/hr to $4/hr in two years.
But these poor people, many over 30 yrs old, are stuck in low paying jobs because there is nothing else for them to move up to.
