Falcons' Vick indicted by grand jury in dogfighting probe

Philly had a guy named Dr. J and Mo Cheeks when Barkley started.

Phoenix had what was considered the next Magic Johnson in Kevin Johnson.

I have no problem with Manning on that list, after all, he has won a Super Bowl.

Go ahead, pick another shooting guard who never won an NBA title over MJ.

Ewing was in the league when MJ retired, great individual player, zero rings. I'll take Hakeem over Ewing.

In nearly every case, I'll take a winner of a Championship over his counterpart who didn't win.

Barkley, Ewing, Bob Lanier, Maravich, Dominique, etc. None could lead their team to a title.

Let's see, Isiah Thomas, or Jason Kidd...

Game 7 of the finals, Walt Frazier or Steve Nash...

Bernard King or Jerry West...

Whats amazing to me is the short memory people have.....I noticed how Peyton Manning isn't;t on that list anymore....Kelly? Had the field goal kicker (norwood) made the short kick...kelly is now one of the greatest?
Olajuwan???? Great no doubt...but his titles came when MJ walked away IN HIS PRIME to play baseball...
Dominique didn't;t play shooting guard...he was a small forward...

The Barkley Bird comparison is interesting....in his Prime, Bird played along side two of the 50 greatest of all time in Parrish and McHalle...Not to mention DJ who may have been the best Defensive PG of his generation...Barkley played with who in Philly??? quick...name another player from those teams...In phoenix he had KJ...and I think Dan Marjle??? Barkley couldn't shoot like Bird but Bird couldn't dominate the low post and rebound like barkley...Id still give the edge to bird...but he had a LOT of help.

...If being a 'Prick" was a crime, 2/3rds of ET members would be in Jail!!!!:D ...including yours truly!!!

but ted williams was a bastard...as was Damaggio...and many other athletes...would you rather deal with Bonds and ask him for an autograph and have him say, " get the fuck away from me"....or would you rather deal with Pacman Jones..Or stephen Jackson of the Pacers and even Ray Lewis...and have one of them or their entourage pull out a gun and start shooting?

is Bonds going to jail or something i dont know about?

Not a team player.

Let me ask you, how many World Series rings does he have?

Zero...

MJ, Russell, Rice, Bird, Magic, Shaq, Gretzky, etc. were winners personally and as a important team member on a championship team. Each of those guys made the other members of the team rise higher than they would have individually by their presence and leadership.

Bonds is a talent, but it ends there.

No leadership, not greatness as a member of a team sport. Baseball is not a fantasy league game, it is about winning rings in October.

If you want to talk individual sports, like golf or tennis, then you can focus in on personal greatness (though even in those sports we measure greatness by Championships).

didt say one thing about team player...we both know that...just said he is perhaps the best offensive player we have seen in our lifetime....you wanna argue that??

Chill Enfinity - I agree Elway deserves everything he has received. A great QB, no doubt. However, without the 2 rings earned late in his career, I don't think I would feel the same. For example, I don't think Marino was nearly the quality QB that he is given credit for. His teams SUCKED. If they didn't have to throw, he wouldn't have near the yards. Would Fouts have the stats he has without Air Coryell, doubtful.

.

i might have to disagree...imagine what marino could have done with a running game...lets not forget that the defense was well aware that marino's only choice was to pass and yet that mother fucker still got it in there....but i do agree that it would have taken alot away from his stats...

He certainly is among the most offensive players ever...

Bonds has great numbers, but where it matters, i.e. rings, he is a big fat zero...

ARE YOU SERIOUS? THEY WERE WAY PAST THEIR PRIME...HE HAD NOBDOY...

NO HE WASN;T, HE WAS A SHOOT FIRST POINT G WITH UNBELEIVABLE ATHLETIC AND JUMPING SKILLS.....MAGIC WAS A PASS FIRST PG WITH LITTLE ATHLETIC ABILITY

I have no problem with Manning on that list, after all, he has won a Super Bowl.

LOADED QUESTION BECUASE HE IS THE GREATEST ATHLETE IN NBA HISTORY.

Ewing was in the league when MJ retired, great individual player, zero rings. I'll take Hakeem over Ewing.

OK

I WOULD TAKE JASON KIDD...HE HAS DONE MORE WITH LESS AND MAKES EVERYONE AROUND THEM BETTER

Game 7 of the finals, Walt Frazier or Steve Nash...

FRAZIER...BECUASE HE PLAYS D

Bernard King or Jerry West...

ONE PLAYED SHOOTING G. THE OTHER PLAYED SMALL FORWARD...

here's one...Ted Williams or Reggie Jackson?

Ernie Banks or Derek Jeter?

Dan Marino....or Phil Simms/ Troy aikman/ Brett Frarve?

Chad Pennington or Joe Montanna? ( sorry, I have jet football on the mind)

:D :D
