It certainly pays to be super-cautious when investing in ANY kind of fund. Almost all mutual funds have been a complete disaster these last 3 years and the problem with most hedge funds is that they are not true hedge funds.

A truly excellent read is Mark Boucher's The Hedge Fund Edge . Follow Mark's long-term strategies & it is unlikely you will have a losing year.
