Out of all the white people that were murdered last year, almost 18% were killed by blacks.
Out of all the blacks that were killed last year, only 7% were killed by whites.

While statistics can be manipulated in many ways to fit an narrative, what you don’t seem to realize is you are exposing your racist mentality and lending credence to Democrat assertions that racism is still a serious problem in the United States. The Liberal narratative is that facts are manipulated. Really ? the FBI has been lying all these years? No, they have not.

Of course the FBI statistics also show that handguns are used in nearly every homicide and "scary assault weapons" aren't the problem but hey - whatever keeps your journalists employed right? If these criminals...I mean journalists would tell the truth instead of fan the flames of the false narrative "white racist violence is on the rise" news would be far more boring.

Your posts tend to be of a higher calibre. I’ve actually argued this other side of this issue against the resident Leftists on ET. In actuality, the statistics are not that important, not meaning disrespect to several hundred plus murdered US citizens. Not that important as compared to the meta view of what posting threads like this entails.

What I really care about is choosing those fights we can win, and avoiding those fights we can’t.

Whether it is racism, Coronavirus perhaps, or police brutality, the optics of seeming to be supportive of injustice in emotionally charged issues or failing to take protective action when people’s health or safety may be involved is a losing battle. Facts and reasoning often take a back seat to emotional triggers. Especially when there is a narrative producing and maintaining media involved.

It’s not right. It’s not fair. But it is the reality in the world we live in. Skillful handling of “Political Correctness” is important if one’s goal is to maintain some credibility over a wider audience.

By acknowledging the situations and conditions the other side’s points are valid, it weakens the power of that issue as being the sole determination of a decision on whether to support a candidate or not. As that issue loses influence, it tends to drive the other side towards more unreasonable positions, which then can be more easily challenged, such as violent rioting.

There are a lot of important issues in which Conservatives dominate. Let’s focus on those issues and show that all people, regardless of race, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender, etc., benefit through proven Conservative policies.

This is a fair point. If your goal was to point out that these posts aren't really about the statistics but rather the finer point of emotional triggers you'd be correct. OP could've justified their argument with actual studies but the meta was certainly partisan - perhaps racist in a literal sense.

Yes, if I was to conclude my argument above nothing needs to be done. By-and-large homicides are intra-race. Violence as a whole has been trending down since at least the 90s.

But to return to your point on emotional triggers of course that is the reason these things are discussed. "Doing nothing" is seen as a weak point instead of a measured response.

Whereas I don't doubt the existence of racially charged violence in policing it's difficult yet again to justify by the numbers. Cases like George Floyd are extremely rare even among that group. Of course, like all issues that resolve to emotions the facts are often more muddied than a simple yes/no answer. For example, confounding factors such as the propensity for police officers to reach for their gun instead of their tazer points to a lack of proper de-escalation training rather than a problem with race violence. The existence of military equipment such as bearcats would imply they would be used in no-knock warrants. However for some reason the military, the originators of the equipment, are far better are getting the right guy. Again confounding factors include training, lack of awareness, and the existence of a very powerful union.


In conclusion the requirement to have some degree of higher order thinking implies the ability to see things as perhaps more confounded than they appear. Emotions are visceral and primitive. Far easier to invoke.

Blacks kill on average 60 black people in Chicago, week after week without fail. For all the BS about Black Lives Matter, where are the jocks, Colin Kaepernick, Lebron James, Richard Sherman, Stephen Curry at? None of them even caring about blacks being shot including, kids mind you? All they want is a white policeman shooting a black suspect, notwithstanding the fact that the shooting is justified. I read an article the other day, that they are still looking at charging Darren Wilson, white police officer who shot Michael Brown in self defense in Ferguson, Missouri? That shooting happened how many years ago? Eric Holder himself took investigators of the Department of Justice at Barack Obama's direction and found nothing to charge Darren Wilson since, he had severe injuries to the back of his head and shoulders? Michael Brown was bashing his head on the pavement when he shot him in self-defense. Black violent criminals can do not wrong per these BLM activists? Heaven help us.
