Facebook's data being used for targeted advertising - what's the big deal?

There should be full disclosure so users know exactly what they're getting into when they let apps access their FB profile. FB makes it seem like there's nothing really going on that will have any affect on the user.

Oh come on. Like that would stop people from posting foodie pictures. They got users addicted to opening their world to the web.

No news had to tell me this. This has been going on for years pre Facebook. The difference is the amount of info users divulge, the amount people Facebook has as users and amount of time spent on FB. That’s golden info papa.

The news isn't the fact that Google and Facebook gathers data/info on its users - or the amount of data/info. I doubt anybody really cares.

But why the fuss with advertisers using that data/info to target users during ad campaigns? Even political campaigns. The media should give some details on why this is a negative.

it is misleading when they say targeted advertising. what is really being mined from these datasets is your psychography. why create robots when you can control humans? it is a great social experiment and we are the lab rats.

You can use a raw data of instagram hastags to promote your business. And you already have a starting core of audience. I raised mine from 2k to 30 k in something about a year. Here’s the trick https://zen-promo.com/free_instagram_followers. It just likes and subscribes everything it sees and then unsubscribes. So it’s kind of perform automatic marketing campaign. And costs only $150 a month
