Facebook threatens to demonetize site over obviously satirical article.

Its already started, there is a site called "minds" that a lot of right wing youtubers are pushing, but the bottom line is no one is going to go to those places until enough people get pissed off. But Youtube has flagged and demonetized videos from people like Sam Harris, And i doubt there is anyone who could consider him a rightie under any circumstance, but he doesnt agree with the liberal orthodoxy on Islam so he got videos purged...... its only a matter of time until it happens, and its sad, cause then the feed back loop will just become more exaggerated, people will literally only get ideas they agree with....... I understand that this is the way most people get their news anyways, but wait till you see how bad it is when there is two sites warring with each other and its literally just righties on one side and lefties on the other.

I cant believe that these social networking sites are not cognisant of the rift they are creating in society with shit like this where Snopes gets to shut down a site based on satire. Btw this is only the most comical example but like i said intellectuals like Jordan Peterson or Sam Harris who arent even necessarily conservatives get screwd by these sites all the time now because people complain.

Sam Harris is probably one of the ultimate intellectuals of our time, but if he doesnt toe the line on PC orthodoxy, youtube and the people watching youtube go after him and get his videos demonetized. Its a race to the bottom, eventually youtube is going to look like a pretty big joke, when its only krugman talking economics.

Youtube is using the SPLC (southern poverty law center) to flag "Extremists" Well the SPLC labelled Maajid Nawaz, a former radical who speaks out against radical islam, an extremist. They also label Ayan Hirsi Ali a woman who was horribly abused and now speaks out against radical islam, as an extremist.....

There is a huge problem when you let radical left wing groups like the SPLC determine who can say things on youtube.

I agree with most of what you say....I mean I don't find Harris as an intellectual giant, but yes a perfectly reasonable person. I haven't followed the splc's rating system as of late, but agree with many of their positions. Especially in exposing organizations that aim to pass as impartial yet are anything but. If it's been hijacked by zealots aiming to restrict speech of moderates, then it's a shame.

In any case, just avoid idiots, protect your money, and aim to profit from the decay while avoiding adding to the misery of others. I've given up on American society as a whole, and try my damnedest to travel to places where political talk/activism is seen as a luxury of the privileged.

Hey, well said, i have no faith anything is going to change either but i like to bitch about it once in a while, but i fully agree, just do what you can and take care of yourself and do the best you can to distance yourself from the orwellian future we are putting on ourselves into where facebook, google, youtube, and twitter tell us how to think.
