facebook fad splits stock for the 3rd time in 4 years!!!

EXACTLY

I was thinking the same fucking thing. I mean awesome, they are rich and have obviously made their mark on society. They have been rewarded as such. But they offer nothing that cannot be outdone by the next internet fad.

If the IPO were to ever publicly launch I am guessing some time afterward it would be the short of a lifetime. Although, you could possibly also go broke waiting for that time as well.

Remember CROX? What a crock that was.

I just don't see the valuation, is there any way to get a look at the financials? I would like to see the income statement and the cash flows just for shits & grins. I really don't think the 25 billion dollar figure would be justified by reality.

BTW- I just deleted my facebook account. I don't know why I had it other than to catch up with old friends. Now I know why they are old friends.....LOL

Agreed!

Btw, my old Friends from High School? I found out that not many grew up, and the girls who were so "hot" are now akin to Jabba the Hut.:D The "jocks" from High School (which I wasn't), didn't have the time of day for me back then. After they went to my pics section on F/B, they started asking, "hey ol' buddy, can you help me put together a diet?" Lol!!!

Despite the laughs I had seeing those who were the "in crowd" in High School become zeros today, I'm still glad I deleted the F/B from my life as it's a complete and total waste of time imo. People wanting to cheat around, and all of the gosspiy bullshit drama isn't for me. I get enough drama with three teen Sons... :D

Yeah I've played that farmville. I got addicted to it for I think 3 or 4 weeks before I decided to stop playing. Not really sure but there has to be some kind of hidden psychological mechanism that is triggered when you play that game because of the timer on the crops that makes you come back every few hours. Its almost like everytime you play, you are setting an appointment for you to play again. I know a computer technician who has played that game for over a year. He is very successful, makes over $80k per year in the silicon valley, but spends so much time on that game when he is at work. I get updates whenever he gets to the next "level". I say, "Dont you know what an incredible waste of time that is?" He says "Yeah, I know" But still plays it. Whats even more lame is he takes "pictures" of his farm and posts it on everyones facebook.

If it's not public, how is stock price set?

By calculating a % of the "fair market value" of the company, and coming up with an agreed upon offering price by the board of directors.

The F/B stock is not a Reg D offering, btw which is a totally different animal.
