Honestly I still think the Block feature is needed and is essential in keeping this forum from descending to those trolling chat sites. ET has been mentioned in the Forbes, a pretty prestigious investment magazine and is financially supported by corporate sponsors. I don't think potential investors from Forbes and users of the corporate sponsors for this forum would be too impressed or thrilled to see ET becoming just a trolling chat sites without any meaningful contents.

What potential investors? ET is not a public company. Is Baron seeking venture capital to expand his site's capabilities? Jesus, the guy posted 2-3 years ago the nightmare of cutting down the saw palmettos from his front lawn. This is not a corporate HQ. It's just a guy in his house running a small business.
That ET is a bit more liberal in it's allowed content should be a MAGNET for investors who are sick and tired of the partisan censorship of the large public media companies.

What I meant by "potential investors" are investors that invest their own money looking for advice, not necessarily investors in ET. I am aware ET is a small business but you never know what ET can grow into in the future. Everything starts small. Bill Gates started his IBM in a garage. Why limit ET's growth potential just because you want to allow some crap trolls who not only spew garbage all day and disrespect other members but stalk them on a daily basis with the purpose of none other than driving them away? And even if ET is content to be just a sole proprietor small business, why does it have to tolerate members who does nothing but s*** on other members and s*** on ET's policies itself? ET is still a business, a business with corporate sponsors. It's not a brawling site. Even bars don't even tolerate senseless brawling why should a legitimate trading forum do?
LOL ET is a trading discussion forum so it's never about politics. I dunno why you want to bring up partisan or whatever crap. But even from a liberal point of view, having the Block feature there does not make ET less liberal. It only allows members who don't want to deal with bullcrap and bullying members who stalk them on a daily basis an effective way of shutting them out. In fact having the Block feature there allows bullies that dominate the conversations to be dealt with so all opinions can be heard so having the Block feature there actually makes ET more liberal not less. And besides ET has been having this Block feature since the beginning of time and it's still "a bit more liberal" as how you put it so why do we have this need to removing it all of sudden? LOL True the Block feature is not perfect and work can be done to improve its efficiency but none of its "imperfections" justify its removal despite the various attempts of illustrating the "imperfections" (sometimes magnifying them with feigned scenarios LOL)
All in all, in order to have a functioning forum, no matter how small or grand, just like everything else even in organizations based on fighting like the MMA, it has to be based on respect, respecting policies and respecting others. And when there is disrespect, there should be consequences that usually involves banning the disrespectful members that just refuse to rectify their behaviour. But in situations where banning is not possible, at least a feature like the Block feature should be provided so that one can at least shut out those obnoxious bullies.

See when this creature had been blocked by me, it wouldn't had been able to see my posts at least not so easily. And of course given its nature, it had to post a response like this knowingly misquoting my posts out of context and twisting what I said and at the same time referring to a theory that I proposed from a few years ago that its pea little brain had no idea about.
And it invoked an unfortunate response from me. This would be the last time that I would be responding to it of course because it's still on my "Ignore" list but I just want to respond this time to illustrate how the Block feature would be useful. With the Block feature there, at least it would have made it to have to log off to read my post and then log back in to post its crap, now it can just click on the "Show Ignored Content" and then post its crap right away, making ET potentially more contentious and uncivilized than it should be.
Of course this creature is a big shot institutional trader so it cannot be banned so it's up to me, a little retail trader to be the bigger person and put up with its crap. LOL
