External lcds with notebook

there are also a couple of external USB video adapters. This one and DisplayLink.

i haven't used or viewed either, but seems like a cool idea. i have read several comments indicating it's not a choice setup for gamers, but for trading i would think it would do just fine.

That first one seems interesting and affordable. I need it for two external lcds so I'm going to call them and see if it's possible to use two of those adapters simultaneously.

Thanks

looks like resolution for USB is not that great.

Resolution Color Bits
1024 x 768 8, 16
800 x 600 8, 16, 32
640 x 480 8, 16, 32

Resolution and Color Bit Information.

Hey Jumper, I used the matrox box that lets you hook up 2 LCDs to one laptop. It worked well, but I dont use it anymore. IF you are interested in purchasing mine let me know. I still have the box and all.

interesting; where'd you find that? per the site it supports 1280x1024:

Resolutions Supported :
1280 x 1024 at 8 or 16 Bits
1280 x 768 at 8,16 or 32 Bits
1152 x 864 at 8,16 or 32 Bits
1024 x 768 at 8,16 or 32 Bits
800 x 600 at 8,16 or 32 Bits
640 x 480 at 8,16 or 32 Bits

and i think the DisplayLink is 1600x1200.

also, there were some videos on youtube of some DL setups. then again, what doesn't have a video on youtube? :D

The first link says that it supports: Resolutions Supported : 1280 x 1024 at 8 or 16 Bits 1280 x 768 at 8,16 or 32 Bits

I travel with the Hyvision 14" lcd. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3276445&CatId=164

So, I need the 1280x768. Which means that if I choose the Matrox dualhead2go, I would need the digital version.

http://www.usbgear.com/USB2_SVGA_USB_video_carD/usb_svga_test.html#req

but if it supports 1280 x 1024 then it's all good.
