I'm skeptical of any organization that, from their website, was founded to:
"analyze federal budget priorities, with particular emphasis on the impact of various budget choices on low-income Americans."
Which is why i specifically stated that the heritage.com and CBPP charts are pulling from the same data. See how the numbers line up for each year. The CBPP chart is just showing more detail on what is actually contributing to the actual deficit.
I like some of Ryan's proposals, although I think it's a little ridiculous to forecast 70 years out. However, there's no chance it would even get past Congress with proposals of VAT taxes and raising the Medicare. Imagine if Obama proposed this, there'd be cries of tax increases and Obama's going to get rid of your Medicare. That's what's broken with the system now, it's all about politics and not about getting stuff done.
