The infamous memo drafted by Democrat fixer Jamie Gorelick when she was Deputy Attorney General that blocked intelligence sharing was part of a complicated plan to conceal clinton's rampant campaign finance violations. These violations involved vast illegal contributions to the Democrat party and Clinton, and were the apparent quid pro quo for technology transfers to China that benefitted its nuclear and missile programs. While at least the outlines of the clinton campaign violations have been known, the role Gorelick and her memo played has only recently come to light. Briefly, it was part of a plan to concentrate control of all intelligence activities in the hands of trusted party operatives who would then control access to politically sensitive investigations. Unfortunately, in their zeal to conceal fundraising violations and possible espionage, they also impeded investigations that could have prevented 9/11.
The ultimate irony is that Gorelick sits on the 9/11 Commission and has used her role to try to blame the Bush administration for allowing 9/11. Perhaps she should be sitting in front of a grand jury instead.
