explanation of automated trading

does anyone have an example of a trading equity program

does anyone have a excel or java code (maybe a strategy that doesnt work so you dont share you secret) so i can better understand how one can design a program

i have some coding experiencea few years ago...nothing major
i have some technical analysis experience
im willing to take a great deal of time to learn more

but i dont know whats really the format of these bots (on an elementary to intermediate level)

anyone with some details or files explaining this field with examples?
