The U.S. government is shortly stopping its financial support which make Covid vaccines free. The current proposed cut-off date is in January. At the same time Pfizer is increasing the U.S. prices for each shot to about $130 since they will not longer be constrained by government contract pricing. Insurance companies will probably require many Americans to pay $20 or so for a booster next year. While uninsured Americans will be stuck with the full price.
The U.S. government outlined this was part of the Covid emergency measures ending as we move from a pandemic to epidemic.
At this point many people are vaccinated and/or had Covid previously. The latest Omicron strains are less deadly than earlier variants (e.g. Delta). The increase in "immunity" (at least against severe illness) across society coupled with the lower severity of Covid drives the situation from being a pandemic to epidemic. Now that vaccines are widely available and medical treatment has improved -- there is no longer a need to lock down and socially distance. As soon as a vaccine became available the intent was to drive society towards a return to normalcy without masks and restrictions. And lets face it -- if you don't get the vaccine and you croak at this point -- it is your own damn fault. Note that over 95% of the deaths under age 60 are unvaccinated.
The path of this pandemic matches other pandemics in history. Gradually over time people acquire vaccinated and/or natural immunity -- and typically the virus evolves to be less severe.
Of course with Covid -- if a new strain shows up which is more deadly than Delta and vaccine evasive then the world-wide situation may change. But from my perspective this not likely to happen and we will slog through this winter facing Omicron variants in an epidemic phase.
At some point...you just need to let those posting misinformation about Covid, vaccines, or the Pandemic...stay on that small little island in their head. They fell down the rabbit hole and are stuck in the darkness.
My favorite quote by them was that...
1 out of 250 vaccinated people has died within two days after getting a Covid vaccination shot.

Exactly and it was pre-planned a long time ago.
I expect to see a rush on the vaccines within the last month of whatever date they plan to traverse from free to costing a fee.
As for Covid, some of its variants of concern (VOC) have been unpredictable. If a new VOC shows up after Covid vaccines become a fee-cost for each individual...
The conspiracy theorists will quickly show up to say that the VOC was intentionally released onto the public to make the pharmaceutical companies even richer.

To add a little context to your statement via some of the charts I've recently posted in this thread and other threads...
- Unvaccinated Covid Deaths are still much higher than Vaccinated Covid Deaths here in North America.
Answer #1: Unvaccinated Covid Deaths have been mainly < 65 years of age whereas Vaccinated Covid Deaths have been mainly > 65 years of age.
This correlates with the fact that most vaccinated individuals tend to be older as in > 50 years of age and they tend to have more comorbidities.
Answer #2: Due to the fact that North America (Canada and the United States) are highly vaccinated countries...the unvaccinated have better protection against Covid because there are more vaccinated people surrounding the unvaccinated...Immunology/Virology 101
The Unvaccinated Covid Death numbers are dropping fast down to the levels of the Vaccinated Covid Death numbers and in some major cities...unvaccinated and vaccinated covid deaths are almost equal as shown in an earlier chart of Chicago Covid Deaths Vaccination/Unvaccinated numbers...numbers that I'm still very surprised about.
Yet, it does make you wonder why most Covidiot Conspiracy Theorists continue concentrating their misinformation about vaccines on other countries and less on North America when its the same damn vaccines.
Simply, no way in hell one country will be doing so well while another country is doing so poorly with the same vaccines.
