And ALL of these statements at the time in mid-2021 were absolutely TRUE. At that time Delta was the primary Covid variant. The Covid vaccinated break-through rate in mid 2021 was a mere 0.56%. This is 6 TIMES LESS than the vaccinated break through rate of the measles vaccine which is over 3% in an environment where the disease is highly prevalent.

Then the Omicron variant arrived in late 2021 -- Omicron is highly infectious and vaccine evasive. Hence the vaccinated breakthrough rate went up greatly and infections (and re-infections as well because "natural immunity" was completely worthless) became very common. Fortunately Omicron was less deadly than earlier variants. We are still waiting for studies to be completed on the new bivalent booster to see how effective it is in stopping Omicron infections.

Fortunately the Covid vaccines are still very effective at stopping severe illness. Over 90% of the Covid deaths world-wide are among those not vaccinated. This is still a pandemic of the unvaccinated.

My biggest complaint since this whole shitstorm started 30-or-so months ago was that people should not conflate "immunity" with "invincibility."

If you get the vaccine, you will always have a lesser-chance of getting seriously ill. I always HATED the messaging that was given out about how you should get the vaccine to prevent OTHERS from getting the virus. BULLSHIT! You get the vaccine to prevent yourself from getting seriously ill.

And through this pandemic, I have always thought that it was nonsense for these blowhards to say that having the vaccine will keep you from "getting it". No, you are GOING TO GET IT! It is what happens after you get it that matters most.

I have posted the following vid many times to show the folly of these idjits saying that the vaccine will prevent one from "getting it"...

No vaccine can prevent you from getting infected with something. The vaccine's job is to train your immune system to keep you alive while it fights off the virus. We are not at Star Trek:TNG level shit yet.
