excel formula help (identifying letters)

This might be useful too if you want to look in more than a single cell for certain occurances.

=LEN(A1&F6)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(SUBSTITUTE(A1&F6,"E",""),"e",""))

This formula looks for e or E in A1 and F6 and returns the total of each added together

That's it...
