Excel | DDE hook-up in C++?

I know that Excel is programmed in VBA, but is it possible to program it in C++ instead. C++ was the first language I learned and am pretty good at it, although no expert. I also know that C++ is more reliable than VBA.

So anyone to hook up Excel to Genesis via C++ but using Excel?

I don't intend on automating any strategy. But I am looking for a way to give me alerts and such.

Just trying to figure out how to go about it.

Also any suggestion of a book or resource on programming specific to trading in Excel would be greatly appreciated.

As a matter of fact. You can do anything with Excel using C with the Microsoft Excel SDK. The performance gain compared to VBA is HUGE.
