Ewj: elliott wave

Quote from Landis82:

Prechter and his boy Hochberg who does the short-term "update" for Elliott Wave International are once again holding the "bag" given that Hochberg was looking for yet another rally up in Wave 5 over the very near term. It never materialized.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!

Landis, to be fair, Hochberg said that the S&P MAY form a new high, but it isn't required. They also said to expect a pull back, but we'd have to wait and see if it was the start of primary 3.

I'm not defending them, as I'm a little frustrated with their "the market may go higher, or it may not" forecasts.

You said you worked for PTJ, and according to Market Wizards, he likes Prechter.

Are you on-board with the bearish view?

Are we at the end of wave-3 or the end of wave-C on the weekly chart?

If so, the next price move (wave-4 or wave-1) should be down anyway.

Any comments?

And already there are some E-wavers out there that are looking for yet another A-B-C zig-zag back up to finish off a "Z" and a triple zig-zag... with an (X) wave low being placed at the early Nov. low as the end of a 3-3-5 expanded flat.

Eric,

Yes, I worked for PTJ in his infancy some 23 years ago and trust me when I tell you that he used EW as merely one part of his technical toolbox. Interestingly enough, his letter to his Fund holders dated mid-October was extremely bullish on Gold, citing all sorts of macro supply/demand characteristics and not one mention of Elliott Wave.

Meanwhile, looks like Neely has given up on his pattern of a final moon shot up and is now seeing the potential for a sharp thrust down.

Neely has been so horribly "whip-sawed" this year that it isn't even funny.

:(

Thanks Landis. Do you mean they already saw the top of the current wave (on Nov. 16~18) and believed corrective wave is underway now? It’s good to know what the other E-wavers think at this stage :)
