"Evil" Walmart offers Better Health Coverage Than Obama

Quote from Covertibility:

And there is no word regarding preexisting conditions under the Walmart Plan. And how fast will you be kicked off the Walmart Plan if you get cancer or one of those very, very bad things that's on the internal list of very bad things insurance companies use to deny people coverage?
if ANY insurance company kicked you off a plan because you were diagnosed with cancer the State Insurance commissioner would come down on that company so hard they would be put out of business and maybe end up in prison. Insurance is highly regulated just to prevent the kind of things you are passing around a fact. I don't know who you think you are talking to, but you have lost all credibility.

Why would the employee be let go again?
Because they're cheap, plentiful, and have become a "nuisance".

Convertibility, I'm thinking dead peasant insurance would pay squat on a greeter.

Quote from JamesL:

Surprise! Walmart health plan is cheaper, offers more coverage than Obamacare

New Obamacare health insurance enrollees may feel a pang of envy when they eye the coverage plans offered by Walmart to its employees.

For many years, the giant discount retailer has been the target of unions and liberal activists who have harshly criticized the company's health care plans, calling them “notorious for failing to provide health benefits” and "substandard.”

But a Washington Examiner comparison of the two health insurance programs found that Walmart's plan is more affordable and provides significantly better access to high-quality medical care than Obamacare.

Independent insurance agents affiliated with the National Association of Health Underwriters and health policy experts compared the two at the request of the Examiner.

Walmart furnished employee benefit information to the Examiner. Neither Obamacare advocate Families USA nor the United Food and Commercial Workers, which backs anti-Walmart campaigns, responded to Examiner requests for comment.

Walmart offers its employees two standard plans, a Health Reimbursement Account and an alternative it calls "HRA High" that costs more out of employees' pockets but has lower deductibles. Blue Cross Blue Shield manages both plans nationally.

Also offered is a Health Savings Account plan that includes high deductibles but allows tax-free dollars to be used for coverage.

I just watched an interview with the writer of the article. He claimed the secret to walmart's insurance was it is the same, exactly the same for all employees from the CEO to the greeter.

think about it

we have to pass laws and debate in congress whether a senator, or his staff, should be forced to give up their coverage and be dumped on the ACA exchange

so the CEO at walmart can't cut coverage for the low wage employee without cutting his own benefits

and furthermore, if you lose your job for any reason, quitting, health, or fired, all these company plans give you 30 days to keep your insurance if you want to pay for it out of your own pocket.

after an election you can have a discussion, but it's 2014 now, an election year, and all you will hear out of the mouth of a democrat is lies, more lies and bigger lies.

I don't now why they even open their mouth. Because, every time they do they just strengthen my resolve to never vote for a democrat again.

Maybe you've been out of the US for a long time, but you cannot fire someone for cancer. Any indication that you have done so will open up a lawsuit for quite a bit of compensation.

I thought it was common knowledge that if you have one of those very, very bad things, the insurer would look for any other problem with you that you had left out when applying for insurance to rescind coverage. I remember this, U.S. to WellPoint: Stop dropping breast cancer patients, from a few years ago. This idea of dropping people with very, very bad things for some other reason was highlighted in Michael Moore's SICKO.

When was the last time the republican party had any credibility? Eisenhower?

no, you can lie through your teeth when you apply
it's up to the insurance company to do due diligence
once they take your money and issue a policy it is all on them
this has been the insurance law for decades

The cases are common, the excuses legion, the victories few. And the laws have loopholes.

But in an ideal world, yes, the government would have at least this much control over private enterprise.
