Rs7,
I am quite scared since those words are those of a fascist or a nazi. You do not realize what it is for me or for anybody else to read those words. I thought you said that all muslim arabs were not fanatic terrorists and that your best friend was syrian. Are those your words.. So if this is the case how can you defend a stupid fascist like candle..???
I don't see where candle spoke words of a "fascist or a nazi". However maybe I missed something.
Where did I EVER accuse any people, any faith, any religion, any race, any widely accepted peace loving beliefs at all of being evil? Or of being our enemies? Where did I ever lay blame other than on the unelected and unpopular fanatics that preach violence and xenophobia? If you think I am guilty of defending candle....in what way did I defend him? (and I am not saying whether he needs to be defended or not....that is not for me to say, do or make judgement). But yes, I agreed with what he said about who our greatest dangers were posed by. I never ever agreed with his premise to make war with Islam. If you read what I said, you will see I went out of my way to make that point.
Good luck trading.
By the way, what makes you think I am a white american? Or a jew? What makes you think anything about me other than I am somewhat proficient in English? (As I have been in French and Vietnamese. Which ended up costing me more than you can ever possibly know). I have been imprisoned in America, held as a hostage in what was Burma at the time, and tortured in Cambodia. I think I know a little bit about racism, bigotry and being on the wrong side of them. I empathize with the plight of the Arabs, the Palestinians, the Jews, the American Indians, the Hindus, and the Buddhists. The Serbs, the Croats, and the Kurds. The Inuits, and on and on. They are all good people. They have all been discriminated against. The only hatred I have is for hatred itself. This is why I give money to the Anti Defamation League. This is why I am what you would almost certainly label a "liberal" (with a negative connotation), but I cannot silently watch the ACLU defend the right of free speech exercised by hate groups. So the ADL is the voice of reason I support. No one is ever right all the time. I admire the ACLU. But there are limits. Even they need a watchdog group to keep an eye on what they try to assure. Sometimes our constitution is taken too literally. So then it takes an organization like the ADL to put some reason into the equation.
Well, gotta go watch Mel Brooks' "History of the World Part I" so I can get a real perspective on what really went on before I was born. But I DO remember what Mohammed Ali said. And it wasn't Will Smith said in the movie!
