For them to give an explanation they will have to admit to believing the aircraft was a threat and shot it down. That is a bit of a game changer as it forces everyone to acknowledge the Iranians will shoot down any aircraft, including a US aircraft, if they believe their airspace is being attacked.

In the video you can see what appears to be the missile (left to right in the video) hitting the plane. After the missile hits the plane continues and appears to be on fire (right to left in the video).

I would think some of these systems can't rely on slow human reaction to intercept threats?
