You can meet people - you just can't meet FOREIGN people, that's a big distinction. The word FOREIGN makes it illegal - just like taking money from people is legal as long as they are US citizens, any foreign money is illegal. What Trump Jr. did was accept an implied promise of an in kind donation to the campaign, that's criminal.
52 U.S.C. 30121:
It shall be unlawful for (1) a foreign national, directly or indirectly, to make (A) a contribution or donation of money or other thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation.
First you have to vet the person to be sure they are or are not a foreign national. Second, information has already been declared by courts to not be a "thing of value" in regards to campaigns. You are on very weak legal ground here.
1. So Trump Jr. didn't knew the person was a foreign national? If that's the case then why would he claim that it was about Russian adoption. LOL
2. Which court ruled that damaging info on your opposition wasn't a thing of value? Citation?
Alright show me one example, just one, of someone being prosecuted in the U.S. for providing information on the opposition to a campaign. Doesn't exist.

So you are now calling the Trump family the "Trump crime family" with no reasonable evidence or proof. While you are calling the meeting of the advisors of a candidate with a foreigner treason.
Why don't we discuss all the foreigners Obama and his advisors met with before he was elected President (including all of his overseas trips). Based on your standard of evidence all of Obama's pre-election activities involving foreigners are just all "levels of treason".
