My years in South and southern Africa showed me too well how keeping a "boot on a neck" as he says, changes people. Some darkly pragmatic, many go inane and superficial. Morlock and Eloi.

In Madrid last night and a bunch of protests at the same times, one about men against macho culture, another about why trans were under-represented in industry and this one which of course resulted in bomb threats, one will never know it just teens, Israeli Jews doing dirty tricks or some looney Arab. I fairly randomly shouted "Las daltonismo para liberar Puerto Rico!"* and got some confused looks, a couple of smiles so it seemed many were harmless enough.

I must have a look again at the Geneva proposals.
