You say I should spend a day with you picking fruit maybe you should spend some time in inner cities and in illegal immigrant neighborhoods but then again you ain’t got the balls for that. It's interesting that every discussion about the impact of immigrants on the U.S. economy ends up being an economics discussion on the one side of the issue and rapidly devolves to sophomoric name calling on the other. That pretty much says everything that needs to be said about the strengths of the ideas.
 
One side of the issue? Why because you discount any idea counter to yours? All you have to say is no and accuse it of being fantasy and it doesn’t exist? And your side is only legit? Do you really think that an abundance of workers willing to work for cash at any price has no effect on the competitiveness of the labor market? As one poster commented those that promote and defend cheap illegal labor usually see some sort of gain or benefit from it. Is that you? I’ve brought up examples of cheap illegal labor underbidding those that used to make reasonable income doing the jobs that they now do. But you refuse to believe it. Maybe your $75hr guy is undercutting everyone else with cheap labor and banking off the back of his workers.

Sure you bring up illegals that have W2 will work and pay into SS/Medicare and never benefit. Sure I agree. But many offset this by reducing their fed and state taxes by claiming more than they should. You really think they’re not smart enough to figure this out? If they play this system what else gets played? I’m not going to rebring up everything and go in circles

I’m also glad you took the higher road not calling people less educated than middle schoolers and thinking your thoughts mitigate actual life experiences that you’ve never been through. I mean certainly you’ve pretended to be a polite dick and dodge the fact that you’re still a dick too. I certainly doubt that you’ve spent a significant amount of time in the neighborhoods where illegals live, or actually working with them. If you did it was decades ago. You probably grew up suburban and started a military career so you haven’t seen things from the inside. Your picking fruit for a summer. That just represents one labor job that illegals are doing. I’ve done plenty of jobs that are seen as cheap labor jobs that illegals have done sun up to sun down day in and out just like they do. I’m not talking about no fast food crap either talking serious grunt work. So about your fruit picking story, cool story bro. Maybe you’re used to white collar folks, that are impressed with that.
