Ever had a supernatural experience?

The real question here should be...

What is a ghost?

Does anyone (besides me ;) ) know?

And, mytwocents, if you get scared, you can crawl into my bed ;).

*hearing spooky sounds in the background - then realizing it is just the repo guy outside because I missed my last 3 car payments*

Rabbi, it wasn't so much that it was about ghosts as it was the event they were discussing. A young male caller said he kept waking up night after night and finding an 80-year-old woman in bed with him. The host of the show responded like it was the most natural thing in the world. I suppose what I wanted to laugh at was how I would react to that happening.

Alright, I can definitely see why that would make you laugh :).

Please share what you've seen.

well, first of all, it also depends on how one defines "supernatural". For example, the following story which I posted to another thread I considered pretty much supernatural, as I don't believe in amazing coincidences:

Well, this story should appeal to the religious types among you .

You see, I'm a religious Jew, and as you may or may not know, it is forbidden for us to do certain types of labor and work on the Sabbath, which is from sunset on Friday to Saturday night. Living in Israel, which is 6-7 hours ahead of the US, this would mean that I usually couldn't trade on Fridays. One Friday all the Sabbath preparations were finished early, and I realised the market had just opened, so I turned on the computer "just to see" what the market was doing. Sure enough, a trade was signalled right then and there! I quickly called my broker and entered a short, which started going beautifully down. Of course, the clock was ticking, sunset was getting nearer, and the market was STILL going down! In any case, I gave myself until twenty minutes before sunset, and come what may, I'd exit the trade. And sure enough, 16:30 came along, I called my broker and told him to get out of the trade. He said, and I quote: " you want to get out?? NOW???" And I said yes, and that was that, and I made over $1000. Well, you can imagine how I felt all that Sabbath, imagining the thousands of bucks I must have missed by getting out early. Well, as soon as the Sabbath was over, I took a look at Friday's Market, and....At 16:31, the market totally reversed, and rallied, and would have taken most of my profits with it!!! My broker pestered me for weeks to tell him my secret of market timing .

In Jewish lore it is said that the Sabbath protects those who keep it, and I was happy to be able to confirm that!

But I've got spookier ones. After my great-grand father passed away in Belgium, his children decided not to let his sister in Israel know. She was old and they were worried what the shock would do to her. A few weeks later they got a letter from her, telling them that she knows that he passed away and not to worry. He appeared to her in a dream and told her that he had passed away, but that he was very happy...

A neighbor of mine had a 3year old girl with a medical problem. She kept getting sick with high fever every few weeks. In the beginning she would be sick for only a few days, but as time went on she'd be sick for longer and the sickness got worse. The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. They did all kinds of tests, nada. One time whileshe was in the hospital, I happened to be in the cty where a famous Rabbi lives. I decided to walk over to his house to see if I could get in to him. I could, for about 30 seconds. I quickly told him the story, and he asked me the child's and her mother's names. I told him, and that was that.

The next day, to the doctors surprise, the fever totally dissappeared. And never came back. The illness hasn't returned again since.

I'll write some more later...

Please elaborate.

This is something I rarely have spoken about but your experience was similar in many ways, so I'll jump in. Had a similar experience in college when I was into the occult. Watched a horror flick, started to fall asleep and found that I could not break out of a trance. I subsequently over the next six months experienced some of the same phenomenon you wrote about. All of this was part of what drove me to becoming a theist.

Anyway, I have posted other miraculous events on previous threads that have no simple "all in one's head" explanation:

Btw, it's nice to see you able to post w/o all the materialist propaganda that I got on previous threads. On the above thread I was told, "I guess we can add illiteracy to your long list of cognitive problems" for even suggesting the idea...Somehow you're managing to avoid the humanist attack dogs!

Where's the BARF bag?!

Wow, TradeOff, that's a really scientific, intellectual way of disagreeing!

Unfortunately, ShoeShineBoy, it looks like you're wrong :(.

Quote from version77:

I've had more than a few. Here is one... I had awoke from sleeping
and it was still kind of dark and I saw a white light about 10 feet
from my bed in the shape of a cone and I wondered what it was
so I got out of bed and walked into it and had the feeling that I
had just become God and knew everything in the universe for
about 2 minutes and then, boom... I was back in my bed spaced
out over the experience...

I've been waiting for that cone to show up again for the last 12 years...

Seriously, I had the same experience. No cone, but I had a dream where I knew EVERYTHING. I woke up after the dream and told myself to write it all down, but I thought that there is no way you could forget something like this. Well, I fell asleep, woke up and forgot it all.
