Public perception of scientists, and what we can do about it
By Donna Nelson, ACS President
Why do scientists so often get a bad rap in the minds of the general public?....
http://cen.acs.org/articles/94/i25/Public-perception-scientists.html?type=paidArticleContent
==============
That article begins by stating that the public has such a bad perception of scientists because tv shows portray scientists badly.
Yeah, right. Gimmeabreak. So what they need is better propaganda flooding the public about the virtues of scientists. Like we have with homosexuals on just about every sitcom on tv. Brainwash the public. That's their answer.
Here's an idea. How about they simply stop lying to the public about science? Stop being willing to cast aside all integrity in the pursuit of their political beliefs?
Nah, that would be too much to ask. So quiet lobbying will be taking place to portray scientists as the ultimate in integrity and virtue to the general public on tv.
Fascinating coincidence, at least to me. 5.8 million sq ft is 133 acres, which is just how many acres are in the grain growing portion of my quarter-section farm. That's huge! To walk the perimeter of my whole parcel (156 acres) takes about 45 minutes.The scale of GigaFactory is something to behold. Artist rendering
