That said, that article is showing one positive thing of a strong El Nino.

Report: The World Will Run out of Breathable Air Unless Carbon Is Cut

Marine plants such as phytoplankton are estimated to produce more than half the Earth’s atmospheric oxygen, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. For the study, Sergei Petrovskii, an applied mathematics professor at the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, calculated how unrestrained global warming could affect phytoplankton and thus the ocean’s ability to generate breathable air. He ran computer models that looked at what would happen to phytoplankton’s ability to photosynthesize at different temperatures.

If the world’s oceans warmed by 6 degrees Celsius—a realistic possibility if global emissions continue unabated—the tiny plants would halt oxygen production, according to the study, which was published Tuesday in the Bulletin of Mathematical Biology.

U.S. Isn't the Only Country With Problems Ratifying Climate Deal

"Poland just added one more hurdle to the climate talks in Paris by saying it may not endorse a new climate deal unless it guarantees pollution cuts that are truly global.

The eastern European country wants negotiators to set a more ambitious threshold for bringing the agreement into force, according to Mieczyslaw Ostojski, a senior member of the Polish negotiating team. Envoys at the United Nations climate conference haven’t settled on rules for when the deal would take effect. The options include having it enter into force if nations responsible for 55 percent or 60 percent of global emissions indicate their backing.

“We are proposing that the entry threshold be countries accounting for 90 percent of global emissions,” Ostojski, a member of Polish environment minister’s cabinet, said in an interview. “This is negotiable, but there’s a red line, and 50, 55 or 60 percent is below this line.”..."

I hope everyone realizes that there will be no meaningful climate deal.

India (a leader of the developing nations) will not sign the climate deal unless tens of billions are provided to developing nations for cutting emissions. (including a minimum of $89 Billion to India).

Many western nations will only sign the deal unless it is washed down to the point where the treaty is meaningless and only a small amount of money will need to be handed over to developing nations (under $9 billion).

The talks are a political farce - even to those who support "climate change".

you realize, based on historically data, here in California cooling me droughts and strong warming means more rain correct?

2. would you mind explaining why the oceans have been warming since the last ice age? then explain why you think the warming of the oceans has something to do with man made co2.

Before making your argument with a chart please include charts from go back to the ice age. so we can see if there really are any notable changes.

True, nothing agreed to in Paris will be enough, by itself, to solve the problem of global warming. Mark my words. Just like Jesus was taken over by the very country that crucified him, so will the republiklans take over HFGW torch. And then it will have been theirs all along, just like Christianity! I always wonder what Jesus would say (in his "second coming") if he saw that Italy is the "center" of Christianity. He might vomit and have a nervous breakdown. There has to be a cartoon out there somewhere that is perfect rendition of this. LOL!

When will this happen? When it becomes apparent just how much money can be made and when a large portion of their constituency, which currently depends hugely on fossil fuel related jobs, have crossed over the threshold where very few of them need fossil fuel related business to support themselves. You think they give a shit whether it is oil or solar panels? Not the republiklans as long as there is a supply chain. History repeats itself. The people that care come first. The risk takers. Then when there is very little risk in converting to the new and real money to be made, the vultures swoop in. The Italians swooped in on Christianity probably for the "wrong" reasons - what they saw was power and money. The poor and hope? Fuck that! If Christianity or another religion was the true religion of GOD, injustice and poverty would have been solved by them long ago. You'd think given 2000 years any problem can be solved. Or what is it, 1200 for Allah? Or what about the new God-de-jours?

It isn't about what is right or wrong. It is about money. Just ask Dick Chaney and Halliburton and Iraq and defense contractors and gun salesmen. Ask the Vatican Central Bank.

I drove through Encinitas CA yesterday.

There was a road sign... Conserve water, severe drought conditions due to cool weather. It was in the middle of the Ecke neighborhood that is now homes and a golf course. Ecke is famous for growing poinsettia. Obviously someone in the business of growing plants who understands that cooling causes drought. (at least here in the western U.S.)
