The Pope rocks. I know he is good because he is pissing off the asshole righties.
Futurecurrents, I must disagree with this stance. I know that these guys have really laid into you probably for years. However, I urge you to resist turning it personal. It may make for good "ET" popcorn watching, but it is harmful overall. There is no "us and them" Only, we.
Many people rightly or wrongly believe all sorts of stuff. I think the best way to state something that one believes is important is to be passionate about it the way you are, being true to the scientific method. The other side of the equation is to allow people to come to terms with their own beliefs. If you rub it in their face, EVEN if they know they are wrong, they will entrench themselves in their position just to spite you.
So, imo, continue your great work. Try not to hold a grudge and hopefully people through their own intellect and experience will come to the conclusions that we know the planet needs.

I here ya nitro, but the fact remains that those that are most put-off by this particular Pope are also the biggest assholes. That's just a fact. You know it's true. I really don't care if it angers them.

Never do the articles mention that far more people died in heat waves in Pakistan in the 1800s. Unfortunately, the death count is shortly likely to be over 2000. But this is still just a portion of the toll from previous historical yearly heat waves over a century back in the region as outlined in records during British rule from 1839 to 1947.
Pakistan has a long record of extreme weather events including heat, cold and rain dating back for centuries. The recent weather events during the past decade in Pakistan are nothing different than the past.

a. we have been warming since the last ice age.
b. CO2 lags follows but lags temperature change (up and down) in all the climate records
c. there is no science showing man made co2 causes warming.
so when you can produce some science showing the laggard actually causes the changes in the leader let us know.
