Obama is already promising pro-labor measures that are cited as half the problem with the New Deal, by eliminating secret ballots so unions can pressure workers to vote their way (basically applying a Joe the plumber pressure to unionizing). The authors suggest the second element of anti-competition measures would be very unlikely to be implemented today, but I wonder if much higher overall taxes and a protectionist trade policy might produce somewhat the same result. Regardless, I think Obama is economically clueless and will destroy the economy because he is a meddler that will scare away investment in risk which is necessary for a buoyant economy.
 
I don't care what that flap jaw Obama does just so he doesn't screw up trading for me.. or get rid of the constitution. Jeez, the guy's vision is right out of Communist Russia, armies of citizen do-gooders, just doing good all day every day... and on the dole... I wonder what his 5 year central plan is?? I'm sure he has it all drawn up...
 
He said he would make federal assistance conditional on school districts establishing service programs and set the goal of 50 hours of service a year for middle and high school students.

For college students, Obama would set the goal at 100 hours of service a year and create a $4,000 annual tax credit for college students that would be tied to that level of service.
