Most things have the power to change lives What's your point? That religion has the power to change lives too, just as fascism through communism and every other political/belief in between?
Making a statement then attaching the word religion to it, doesn't make the statement meaningful.

Although I don't think you can call Confucius a religious figure, plenty get agitated enough about Joseph Smith and political candidates who follow that bs nonsense rather than a christian version.

Saying the bible is true because the bible says the bible is true, is a big problem. You do see that. Don't you?

1. After being given quotes and videos from Penrose, Hawking and even Dawkins stu denies and lies. Stu seemed to say that Penrose did not understand probability and density functions.

2. Stu says there is plenty of evidence of life evolving from non life.
Yet stu spends months misleading and denying but produces no evidence.

3. Stu says no evidence of historicity of Jesus. Then he lies and ignores the virtually undisputed passage of Josephus.... and now it may seem we have gospel fragments from the time of the disciples.

i have studied what he is saying. by the way he supports evolution due to the evidence from genomics.
however when asked about evidence for his belief in god he basically just says he feels it.

Collins has just launched a new website and a foundation called biologos, which "emphasizes the compatibility of Christian faith with what science has discovered about the origins of the universe and life."

Unless Christians—evangelicals, in particular—learn to integrate modern science with their religious faith, Collins believes, they are either stuck clinging to untruths about scientific ideas like evolution or, once they do accept evolution, are in danger of having to abandon their faith out of the mistaken belief that evolution and Christianity are incompatible.

Wow, Free Thinker said something I can agree with. It is obvious to me that a an educated Christian can't regard Genesis as a textbook on history and science.

this whole thread was about some evangelicals concluding that there was really no adam and eve. right away some of the resident bible thumpers objected defending the bible as literal.
do you really think someone like francis collins believes in a literal genesis story?
