I've seen you repeatedly make this point. Comparing the Scandanavian countries and their brand of socialism and holding out hope that this can become some future model of socialism. I suppose that I'd argue that it has everything to do with a homogenous population and the individual mindset. i.e. a collectivist population vs a capitalisistic (or self determined) population.
The current problems are caused by trying to COMBINE elements of a free market system WITH a dependent "nanny state". That is a recipe for civil war.

Absolutely agree with the mindset part, you have got to have "buy in" to make it work, and they have that. Disagree with the "homogenous" part; I'm a "Star Trek" universe kind of guy, if you know what I mean.
